Climbing every mountain…

… well, one anyway. To round out a sudden rush of weekend escapes, Claudia and I spent the second weekend in May in Geneva, visiting with her friend Laurence. On our first day we climbed the local Jura mountain, and on the second we explored Geneva proper. I have to say, I was deeply impressed by the life-style on offer there. Laurence was living in a beautiful apartment in a secluded and quiet corner literally 2 minutes from the central railway station (which is 10 minutes from the airport by train). The city itself is green and pedestrian friendly and strangely reminiscent of Wellington with it’s quiet cafes, beautiful lakeside setting and surrounding steep hills.

Sitting on top of the world in the Jura mountains.

Space, the final frontier.

Geneva.
